Joystick magnitude is a value that represents the distance of the joystick’s current position from its center, indicating how far someone moved the joystick from its neutral position. Usually the amount of frames the joystick is moved is also measured when accounting for this challenge. (e.g. 1f of mag 2 joystick)

The Low Joystick Magnitude Challenge is a challenge that aims to minimize use of the joystick while collecting a star.

This challenge is similar to the No Joystick Allowed Challenge in that it minimizes joystick use, but it is different in that instead of not using the joystick at all, the player can use the joystick while minimizing joystick magnitude.

Stars that require joystick use

Joystick magnitude is a value that represents the distance of the joystick’s current position from its center, indicating how far the joystick was moved from its neutral position. Usually the amount of frames the joystick is moved is also measured when accounting for this challenge. (e.g. 1f of mag 2 joystick)

Note: Most stars that require joystick movement are not done yet.
