Fall damage is caused when Mario falls from an immense height. Some examples of this are:
* Falling from the island in BoB
* Jumping off the Castle and onto dry land
* Dropping off a high platform
Exceptions include:
* Jumping from an immense height and landing in water
* Ground pounding before you hit solid ground
* Diving before you hit solid ground
* Not falling from a big enough height

The shell Mario glitch is a glitch that can move [[Mario]]'s position forward very fast. It doesn't affect speed, and can only be produced in [[Tiny-Huge Island]], due to the fact that the level has the perfect layout to produce the glitch. The glitch can be cancelled by taking knockback, wall kicking, being squished, twirling, and a lot more.

Every surface in Super Mario 64 is made up of triangles. Every triangle falls into 1 of 3 categories:a floor triangle, a wall triangle, or a ceiling triangle. Weirdly enough, a triangle doesn't store what category it is. Instead, its category is determined based on the y component of the triangles normal vector. Simply putting it, if y component > 0.01, then it's a floor. If the y component < -0.01, then it's a ceiling. [[Frame Walking]] is a glitch that allows Mario to walk up steep slopes that would normally cause him to stop and slide down. <ref>[https://youtu.be/6Z-IvLlzesQ?t=13], UncommentatedPannen shows a tutorial of this glitch.</ref>

It is done by alternating between no input on the joystick and walking up the slope. The optimal method is 1 frame no input, and 1 frame walking up the slope. However it is not frame perfect, and multiple frames can be taken with each of them. It's just slower.

Frame walking does not work on slippery slopes, which cause Mario to slide down even if frame walking is attempted.
